How we research

How we score

Each lawn mower gets an editorial "Our score" that weighs build quality, performance, ease of use, reliability and value for money. The score reflects merit only - a brand cannot pay to rank higher, and the size of any commission never influences it.

How we rank

Our best-of guides order products on that editorial score, then re-check rankings as ratings and models change. Where a popular product has real drawbacks, we say so plainly.

What we will not do
